RHYTHM TAP
SORRY - Tap is off the timetable for the summer and will be back on 21st August.
This is a funky style of tap dance more akin to African American tap and quite different from your Broadway style. It brings in a lot of body percussion and is danced to a variety of music - R&B, Chart, Funk etc. You may have seen the company TAP DOGS or check out the tap clip on the BBC dance clips for a sample.
Taught by Melanie Farrow you are given all your basic tap steps and time steps but translated into a different style.
You don't need previous experience for beginners - Melanie's relaxed manner soon gets you moving - you'll be surprised how quickly you can pick things up.
We don't have an intermediate class at present but may be starting one in the near future. However even if you do have experience it's always worth getting a few beginners sessions behind you as the style is quite different.
THURSDAYS 7.15-8.15pm Adult Beginners
WHAT TO WEAR? Sportsgear - comfortable and loose. Tap sneakers /shoes (although if you're just starting a hard sole shoe is fine to begin with)
