Tribal Bellydance is a fabulous style, with beautiful tantric moves, which make it so compelling to watch. Developed in North America, it is an exciting contemporary representation of ancient dance forms, drawn from many roots - Egypt, India, Asia, Africa and Spain. It is a group dance, Gypsy-like in feeling, whether in duets or many more dancers and based on a common language of moves that allows improvised dancing. It energises the group primarily and then the audience.
As with other forms of bellydance it is very accessible to people - you don't need any previous dance experience and age and size are not an issue
You don't have to get into the costume side of things to start the class but be warned, those costumes are wonderful. Lots of big jewellery, hip belts, face jewellery, .... hard to resist.
Beginners Class - 6.45 - 7.45pm.
Introduction to the basic tribal bellydancing moves and dancing together, building flexibility and strength in your body as well as having some fun. Keep technique sharp, as level two will be easier to deal with if you have these moves in your muscle memory!
Intermediate Class - 7.50-8.50 pm
This class will continue to build on core tribal moves and combinations, leading and formations, also with monthly themes, adding levels, variations and stylizing to moves so having a grasp of the basics is essential!
